Who this is for
A voter who needs to find their polling station and official help contact.
Before you start
Use the official lookup to check your name and area. Do not rely on an old slip for booth details.
Key points
- ECI says voters can use Electoral Search or the Voter Helpline App to find polling-booth details. First confirm that your name appears in the relevant electoral roll.
- ECI’s How to Vote FAQ lists 1950 as the voter helpline and instructs callers to add their area STD code before dialling.
What to prepare
- Keep your EPIC number available for the official search. If you search by elector details, enter the information requested by the ECI service.
- Note the polling-station name and address returned for your roll entry. Recheck the official service before you travel, especially if you saved details earlier.
- If you call 1950, add your area STD code before dialling as ECI instructs. Do not share voter details with this independent website.
Steps
- Open ECI Electoral Search and look up your roll entry using an available official search method.
- Open the matching record and read the polling-station information shown for it. Check that the name and constituency match your own record.
- Save or write down the displayed polling-station name and address for your own use. Use the ECI result as the source if another map or saved note conflicts.
- If the service does not show the details you need, call 1950 with your area STD code added, or contact the ERO/BLO through the official ECI portal.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Going to a polling place based only on an old slip, an old message, or a third-party map without checking the current ECI result.
- Assuming a polling-station lookup is the same as confirming that your name is on the roll. Check both.
- Dialling 1950 without the area STD code specified in ECI’s FAQ.
- Treating a photo voter slip as standalone identification. ECI’s FAQ says it is not accepted as the sole identification document for voting.
Short answers
Where can I look up my polling booth?
ECI directs voters to electoralsearch.eci.gov.in or the Voter Helpline App to find polling-booth details.
How do I dial the voter helpline?
Call 1950 and add your area STD code before dialling, as instructed in ECI’s How to Vote FAQ.
Is a photo voter slip enough as identification?
ECI says a photo voter slip is not accepted as a standalone identification document. Check ECI’s current accepted-ID list before going to vote.
If something goes wrong
- If no polling station appears, first verify the roll entry and constituency. If the roll itself has no matching entry, follow the ECI registration or correction route that fits your situation.
- If the displayed address is unclear or the official search is unavailable, call 1950 after adding your area STD code, or contact the ERO/BLO through ECI.
- If the record is yours but details appear incorrect, use the official correction process and keep its acknowledgement. Do not assume a saved voter slip changes the electoral roll.
