Find your Booth Level Officer (BLO) or Electoral Registration Officer (ERO)

Who this is for

A voter who needs help with registration, an application, or an electoral-roll entry.

Before you start

Know your current address and constituency if possible. Use only official ECI or state Chief Electoral Officer information for contact details.

Key points

• ECI describes the ERO/AERO as responsible for electoral-registration processes and the BLO as a field-level support official. Exact contact information is local.
• This guide does not verify an individual officer or telephone number; use the official live lookup or state/district election office.

What to prepare

• Your address or constituency to select the relevant local area.
• An application acknowledgement number if your question is about a submitted request.

Steps

1. Open ECI’s voter services and use its current search or contact tools for your area.
2. If the portal asks, select your state, district, constituency, or polling area. Check the result page’s official domain.
3. For a submitted application, keep the reference number ready and ask the relevant ERO/AERO office about status or the next step.
4. For field-level assistance, use the BLO contact shown by official voter services or the state CEO website.

Common mistakes to avoid

• Calling a number from an unverified social-media post.
• Sharing a full identity document in a public forum to ask for help.
• Assuming the BLO can decide every application; follow the authority shown in the current process.

Short answers

If something goes wrong

• If no contact appears, use the state Chief Electoral Officer’s official site or ECI voter help route.
• If the officer details look out of date, verify with the district election office before sharing documents.
• For unresolved application status, use the official status service and cite your acknowledgement number.
