Who this is for
An enrolled voter whose recorded details or ordinary-residence address have changed.
Before you start
Keep your EPIC or electoral-roll details available. Read the live Form 8 and its guidelines before choosing a service; the portal may ask for evidence related to your request.
Key points
- Form 8 is listed by ECI for an existing elector seeking correction, shifting of residence, replacement EPIC, or marking as a person with disability. Use the live form to confirm the option that matches your case.
- This guide does not decide whether a particular proof will be accepted. ERO review and current form instructions govern the application.
What to prepare
- Your existing electoral record or EPIC details, if available.
- Documents that support the exact correction or new address requested. Check the current Form 8 guidelines for the applicable evidence.
Steps
- Open the official Voters’ Services Portal and choose Form 8 from the forms list.
- Tick one service that matches your request: correction, shifting, replacement EPIC, or disability marking. Fill the relevant section and strike out sections that do not apply, as Form 8 instructs.
- Enter the requested details carefully and attach the evidence the current form asks for. Review the declaration before submitting.
- Save the acknowledgement or reference number. Use the official application-status service and check the updated electoral roll after the request is decided.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Using Form 6 for an existing entry instead of the current Form 8 path.
- Selecting “shifting” when you only need a correction, or the reverse.
- Assuming that submitting the form changes the roll immediately.
Short answers
Can I correct a spelling mistake and move address in one go?
The portal presents separate service choices. Read the live form and submit the request that accurately describes the changes you need; ask the ERO if the portal does not cover your situation.
Does an EPIC card by itself prove the entry was updated?
No. Check the application status and then search the current electoral roll for the final record.
If something goes wrong
- If the portal does not show the right service, open the current Form 8 instructions or ask your ERO/BLO which official route applies.
- If an upload fails, follow the file requirements shown in the live portal and keep your reference number.
- For unresolved voter-service questions, use the ECI contact options shown on the official portal.
